ICSM Business News: appeal to firms struggling in the current climate to complete survey to lobby the new Government to give extra help to ‘vulnerable businesses’

By Harry Mottram: In a dramatic move, key trade organisation leaders have combined to create a platform to lobby the Government of Liz Truss with help from ICSM.

The business credit intelligence group led by Ian Carrotte ICSM is working closely with a number of trade groups to pressure ministers into helping vulnerable businesses during the next few months.

Ian Carrotte said: “It is vital the Government helps firms as they did during the Covid Crisis with grants where applicable – and ideally a freeze on energy costs and business rates. Companies work of having financial planning ahead so to see fixed costs such as gas and electricity prices rising above inflation makes that impossible. These are critical times and I urge all businesses to complete the survey at https://lnkd.in/eDS4-6FY.”

Vulnerable businesses include those in the printing a allied trades, retailing and traditional high street shops and services, plus transport and the hospitality sectors.

The Independent Printing Industries Association (IPIA), The British Association for Print & Communication (BAPC), The British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) plus members of the Graphics and Print Media Alliance (GPMA) who represent companies in the graphics and print media industry plus Printing, Papermaking and Paper Converting Industries (Picon) are working in concert together under the leadership of the IPIA to urgently provide data and information to the Government Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS).

This feedback will arm the Government BEIS Minister Jacob Rees-Mogg MP with the ammunition to ask the treasure and the PM to give the aid required to support vulnerable industries this winter and beyond. Brendan Perring of the IPIA said during its meetings with the Government, this has been emphasised very strongly.
