Representatives of ICSM Credit visited two trade shows in September
In September 2019, ICSM Credit's Harry Mottram visited two print orientated trade shows to meet ICSM associates and to see the latest innovations in the industry.
First up was the Packaging Innovation show in Olympia London. It is a vast exhibition with large sections on food and beverage packaging which is an industry in its own right. It's also a growing market with more packaging being created to market an ever growing list of products. Plastic is the chosen material for much of the industry but with a growing consumer appetite for alternatives the Plastic Free Zone was of interest. One product on display was what appeared to be plastic but was in fact pototoe starch - and clearly compostable.
The Print Show at the NEC is the UK's only dedicated trade show for the print industry. Organised by the folk behind Print Monthly the exhibition has a pinball theme with even a competition to win one of the iconic machines. Gareth Ward of Print Business had a stand as did the publication Digital Printer - while Pritn Monthly also featured a large presence.
Harry Mottram met up with several of ICSM Credit's associates including the IPIA who offer the benefits of ICSM to their own members.
He said: "The feedback was largely to do with concerns over Brexit and its potential threats to the economy. The phrase "it's been a tough year" was one used by many there but as with all periods of difficulty those who can survive with the help of ICSM will be all the better when things settle down again."
Picon members were in attendance with several taking stands at the show including Morgana and KAS Paper Systems. Harry Mottram explained to several ICSM associates of the free Micro Debt Recovery service - which helps to claw back lost cash in written off invoices.
