Shock as Corporate Road Solutions 24:7 comes to an end with 70 jobs lost

Scottish haulage outfit Corporate Road Solutions 24:7 has gone into administration with the potential loss of around 70 jobs.

The Bathgate based supermarket distribution haulier in West Lothian was incorporated in October 2005, operating as a road haulage contractor and freight forwarder employing 70 staff, together with a number of agency and self-employed drivers.

KPMG was appointed to the firm on Monday (11 November) and it has now ceased trading. Joint administrator Blair Nimmo said: "Our attention is focussed on supporting the impacted customers and employees.

"We will be working with all affected employees and the relevant government agencies, including the Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) team at Skills Development Scotland, to ensure a full range of support is available."

Chris Tindall for Motor Transport magazine said: “Over 2019, the company's financial difficulties were exacerbated by the departure of key staff to a competitor together with the loss of a major customer.”

Speaking for ICSM Credit Ian Carrotte said this was a blow for the staff coming as it was just before Christmas but it underlined the tightening of belts within the distribution industry.

He said: “Members have mentioned some issues with the firm over the recent past and we always keep our associates informed of any potential problems."

The firm Corporate Road Solutions 24:7said they offer a wide and varied range of services including taut liner, artic, box van, rigid vehicles, flat trailers and temperature-controlled trailers and can transport all types of cargo throughout the UK and beyond.
